The Big Ten has released their latest weekly honors, with Indiana’s Blake Pieroni taking Big Ten Swimmer of the Week after helping his team to victores over Texas and Florida.
Swimmer of the Week
Blake Pieroni, Indiana
Jr. – Valparaiso, Ind. – Chesteron
- Collected seven top-three finishes against Texas and Florida, including first-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle events
- The 2015-16 Academic All-Big Ten honoree recorded NCAA provisional qualifying times in the 100-yard freestyle (43.25) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:35.75)
- Contributed to a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (2:55.73) against Florida, and a second-place mark in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:23.84) against Texas
- Earns his fourth career Swimmer of the Week honor

Diver of the Week
Steele Johnson, Purdue
So. – Carmel, Ind. – Laurel Springs
- Collected first- and third-place finishes in the one-meter (410.10) and three-meter (372.23) diving events, respectively, in Purdue’s dual meet against Miami (Ohio)
- Swept the diving events at the Indiana Intercollegiates, scoring 440.50 in the one-meter event and 443.15 in the three-meter event
- Recorded NCAA Zone qualifying marks in every event
- Earns his seventh Diver of the Week award

Freshman of the Week
Kevin Pomeroy, Wisconsin
Half Moon Bay, Calif. – Half Moon Bay
- Collected a pair of top-three finishes in Wisconsin’s dual meet against North Carolina State
- Placed second in the three-meter (302.78) and third in the one-meter (304.20) diving events
- Recorded NCAA Zone qualifying marks in the three-meter diving event
- Earns his first career Freshman of the Week honor
