Six-time individual Alaska High School state finalist Emmie Jennings has made a verbal commitment to join the Boise State Broncos in the 2016-17 season. Jennings swims for Knik Aquatics in Anchorage and the Chugiak High School Mustangs.

At the 2012 Alaska State High School Championships, Jennings capped her freshman year with a second-place finish in the 100 free and a fifth in the 100 breast. The following year she was second in the 200 IM and second in the 100 free. In November of 2014, Jennings added yet another second-place finish in the 100 free as well as a second in the 50 to her list of accolades.

Jennings’ best short course times include:

  • 50 free – 23.65
  • 100 free – 50.80
  • 200 free – 1:55.17
  • 100 fly – 56.58
  • 200 IM – 2:06.49

Jennings also added some LCM times at the Futures meet in Oregon this past summer:

  • 50m free – 27.72
  • 100 free – 1:00.52
  • 100m fly – 1:04.85
  • 200 IM – 2:28.04

Boise State has a strong sprint presence in the Mountain West conference. At the 2015 championship meet, the Broncos won the 4×100 free relay and were runners-up in the 4×50 free relay. Moreover, they two “A” finalists in both the 50 and 100 freestyles. Jennings’ best 100 time would have made the “B” final, while her 50 free and 100 fly would have landed her squarely in the “C” finals. Jennings will overlap a year with Brittany Aoyama, who was a top-8 finisher in the 50/100 free and 100 fly, as well as a young and deep freestyle group consisting of: Mandy Barnes, Felicity Cann, Monica Bottelberghe, Cody Evans, Abbey Sorenson, Allyson Kleinsorgen, and Katelyn Martin.

She will also join fellow Alaskan, Dakota Isaak, a freshman this year who swam at Juneau-Douglas High School.
