Boston College Goes On Record-Breaking Spree In Sweep of Terrier Invite

BOSTON – The Eagles put together a dominant performance at the Terrier Invitational at Boston University’s Competition Pool over the last three days. Boston College placed first out of five teams on the men’s side and first of six teams for the women.

The men’s team accumulated 1,684 team points, 395 points more than the second-place Georgetown University.

On the women’s side, BC accumulated 1,324.5 points, creating a 137.5 point differential between the second-place Northeastern University.

Record-Setters:
A multitude of Eagles made their way into the record books this weekend led by Adair Sand, who broke three individual school records (100 Free – 49.93, 200 Back – 1:55.96, 200 Free – 1:47.42), two of which she broke twice (200 Free, 200 Back). She was also part of the relay team, alongside Sofia ZinisKatie Drumm and Gigi Baldacci, that broke pool and school records for the 200 Medley (1:40.05) and 400 Free (3:22.28).

Fellow relay teammate Gigi Baldacci also broke two individual school records in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.68 and 2:14.04 respectively.

Jack Doyle broke the pool record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:47.03. He would later go on to break the pool and school record for the 400 IM (3:49.86) as well. Doyle was also a member of the pool record-setting 400 Medley relay team (3:15.55) featuring Michael HorkanMatt Szekely, and Bryce Henkel.

Henkel and Szekely would go on to set individual records of their own – Szekely setting a school record in the 100 Fly (47.31) while Henkel set a school and pool record in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:46.16.

Megan Kramer and Zachary Szmania rounded out the record-breakers, setting school records in the 1650 Free (16:29.99) and 500 Free (4:26.21) respectively.
