The swim and dive teams traveled west to Williamstown, MA to compete against Williams College in the last meet of the semester.

The Eagles performed with tremendous strength and success this weekend. The women lost, 183-117, but still came away with individual victories and new records. The men defeated Williams, 159 – 124.

Senior Anthony Richardson had a particularly outstanding meet overall. The senior freestyler picked up four individual wins, and managed to drop more than seven seconds off of his 1,000 yd. freestyle, breaking his own BC record with a time of 9:25.06. He also set a new personal record in the 100 yd. freestyle with a time of 45.94.

Recap

  • The men took first and second in the 200 medley relay –  Josh Williams, McKenzie Cole, Taylor Cortensand Colin Derdeyn took first with a time of 1:31.69. It set a new Williams pool record.
  • Daniel Creighton, Billy Miller, David Howard and Nicolas Junghahn placed second with a time of 1:33.55.
  • Katherine Karle set a season best in the 200 yd. backstroke with a time of 2:05.93 on her way to a second place finish. Karle and Ina Elcott took second and third in the 100 yd. backstroke, Elcott clocking in at 58.73 with Karle closely behind at 58.79.
  • Senior captains Josh Williams and Conor Chamness took first and second in the 100 yd. backstroke, clocking in at 50.12 and 51.05. Williams also finished first in the 200 yd. backstroke (1:51.49) to earn himself three victories total in the meet.
  • The women finished second, third and fourth in the 100 yd. breaststroke with Taylor Covington  at 1:07.09, Alison McDonough at 1:07.56 and Dakota Meyer at 1:08.35.
  • The men swept the 100 yd. breaststroke with Billy Miller in first (57.04), McKenzie Cole in second (57.26) and Charles Kleinsmith in third (58.22). Miller and Kleinsmith also went on to take first and second in the 200 yd. breaststroke clocking in at 2:08.95 and 2:09.09.
  • Erika Freeman took first in the 200 yd. individual medley with a time of 2:10.14 and Lauren Quinnplaced third with a time of 2:10.88.
  • Abigail Kordell finished in second in the 200 yd. breaststroke with a season best time of 2:24.67.
  • Cole Malatesta, Jack McCarthy, and Robert McCrory finished first, second and third in the 3 meter diving event with scores of 334.95, 278.77, and 267.90.
  • Gabriella Taghian, Corinne Larkin and Cecilia O’Reilly finished second, third and fourth in the 3 meter diving with scores of 253.80, 242.27 and 213.75.
  • In the 1 meter diving event, Larkin took second (233.85), O’Reilly took third (219.30) and Taghian took fourth (217.50).

The Eagles have a well deserved break for the holidays coming up after final exams. The season will pick back up again after the New Year on Saturday January 14 where BC will host the Marist College.

200 medley relay pool record of 1:29 was not broken.
