WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston University women’s swimming & diving team closed out the first half of its schedule with a 194.5-104.5 road victory over Holy Cross at the Hart Center on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Ashley Scafetta and senior Sezin Eligul swam to two wins apiece while senior Emily Balicanta swept the diving events. Five sophomores – Ellie GravesClarissa HoytMadison KimLara MitchellSydney Sorbello – senior Francesca Leung and freshman Stephanie Liu each picked up a victory in the dual to help the Terriers even their record at 3-3.

The Terriers now stand at an even 3-3 on the year. The team will take a six-week break from competition before returning to action on Jan. 15 when it visits Colgate.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Ayden Chanin, sophomore Greta Walting, and freshman Ava Westfall took home individual event wins as the Holy Cross women’s swimming and diving team suffered a 190.50-104.50 loss to Patriot league opponent Boston University on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.

Chanin earned nine points for the Crusaders in the 200-yard freestyle bettering the second place opponent by .41 seconds (1:57.34). Walting tied with Stephanie Westfall of BU for first with an exact 31.14 time as both athletes competed in 50-yard breaststroke. Westfall came in first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.27) with her lowest split a 30.52 during the first 50 yards.

Holy Cross will be off for the next month and they return to the pool on Tuesday, January 18th at conference opponent Colgate at 12:00 p.m.
