Brace yourself – 2013 RCP Tiburon Mile Features an All Star Field

This press release just made it our way from our friends at the RCP Tiburon Mile and yes we are psyched for this event. The event is not only chock full of world class talent, it’s a great mass participation event too – and yes you can still enter.  See you in San Francisco open water swimming fans.

The 14th Annual RCP Tiburon Mile Open Water Swim is coming up on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 9 am! This is the world’s most competitive open water swim with International Olympic and World Champion swimmers competing for a $10,000 prize! Starting at Angel Island and swimming their way through the Raccoon Straight in the San Francisco Bay, swimmers will finish the one nautical mile swim on the shores of Tiburon at Sam’s Anchor Café. Thousands of swimmers and spectators gather in Tiburon for this annual event which has raised over $1,350,000 for charity. After the swim, athletes from 20 countries and spectators enjoy lunch catered by many outstanding local restaurants and music from Dave Jenkins of the Pablo Cruise Band.

The list of Elite athletes this year includes Brooke Bennett, USA 3X Olympic Gold Medalist; Haley Anderson, USA London Olympic 10K Silver Medalist; Keri-Anne Payne, Great Britain Olympic Silver Medalist and 2X FINA World Champion; Kane Radford, New Zealand Open Water Champion and 3X RCP Tiburon Mile Winner; Luane Rowe, Australian world class open water swimmer; Ashley Twichell, USA Gold & Silver Medalist; Michael Sheil, Australian open water swimmer; Evgeny Bezruchenko, Russian World Champion; Richard Weinberger, Canadian 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist; Mateuz Sawrymowicz, Polish Olympian; Oussama Mellouli, Tunisian 3X London & Beijing Olympic Gold Medalist; Vladimir Dyatchin, Russian World Open Water Champion.
