27-year old Brazilian swimming champion Bruno Fratus will represent Clube Internacional de Regatas de Santos this season, presuming the CBDA quagmire ever settles down and resumes business-as-usual.
Fratus had choice words for his former club Pinheiros after they dropped him earlier this year. He felt that he deserved better than to be cut after 10 years with the club that included earning 2 Olympic finals, 5 Pan American Games medals, and a 2015 World Championship bronze in the 50 free.
“In 2017, I will be representing the Santos International Regatta Club,” Fratus said in a video posted to his Facebook account (translated from Portuguese). “I hope to bring many good results and to be able to encourage the young members of the base that train there.”

In Brazil, team titles are given much more weight at national competitions – so much so, that clubs will often hire foreign swimmers to come and race for just a single meet.
