Brazilian Swimmers Dominate 10km Race in China

Brazil’s Ana Marcela Cunha and Allan do Carmo were the winners of the tenth and penultimate leg of the FINA/HOSA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup, taking place in Chun’an (CHN) on October 11. Ana Marcela Cunha completed the race in 2h03m36s, while Allan do Carmo took 1h53m04s to touch home, after having placed second in Viedma (ARG) and Lac Megantic (CAN) earlier in the circuit. Cunha only won the 10km race in Balatonfured (HUN) before so this was her second triumph of the season. She was bronze medallist in the 10km event at the 16th FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

54 swimmers (28 men and 26 women) took the plunge in China on Sunday. The final leg of the FINA/HOSA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup will stop in Hong Kong (HKG) on October 17.
