Breast/IM Specialist Justin Mars to Stay In-State; Commits to Saint Louis University

Justin Mars, a senior at Rockwood Summit High School in Fenton, Missouri, has committed to swim for the Saint Louis University Billikens in 2015-16.

“Never in my swimming career did I think that I would be a Division I athlete. Now, I’m excited to begin my journey as a Billiken and I can’t wait for what the future has in store!”

Mars had two top-eight finishes at the MSHSAA Boys State Championships held earlier this month: he placed fourth in the 200 IM (1:55.49) and eighth in the 100 breast (59.73). Mars also swims with Flyers Aquatic Swim Team in Saint Louis. His best times are:

200y breast: 2:09.64        200m breast: 2:32.05
100y breast: 59.28            100m breast: 1:09.60
200y IM: 1:55.49               200m IM: 2:17.53
400y IM: 4:09.27               400m IM: 4:52.03

Mars will be a nice addition to the Billikens’ lineup as they try to rise to the top of the standings of the Atlantic-10 conference in the coming years.
