Breast/IMer Hannah Womer Verbally Commits to Florida State

Hannah Womer, a California-to-New Jersey-to-California transplant, has verbally committed to swim for Florida State University in the fall of 2018. Womer moved to back east after her freshman year at San Jose’s Leland High School, where she finaled in the 50 free (5th with 23.23) and 100 breast (14th with 1:04.37) at the inaugural 2015 CIF State Championships. As a sophomore at Chatham High School in Chatham, New Jersey, she was runner-up in the 100 breast (1:04.06) and placed sixth in the 200 IM (2:06.25) at the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. While in New Jersey she swam for Berkeley Aquatic Club. This past spring, as a junior at Leland, Womer placed 8th in the 200 IM (2:04.44, after 2:02.26 in prelims) and 10th in the 100 breast (1:03.01) at 2017 CIF State Meet.

Womer’s club team is Quicksilver Swimming. At the short course Far Westerns this past March she won the 100 free and 200 breast (setting the Far Westerns record with 2:14.75), and 400 IM, was runner-up in the 200 IM, placed third in the 100 breast, and was fourth in the 50 free. Her top SCY times are:

  • 200 IM – 2:01.24
  • 400 IM – 4:19.18
  • 100 breast – 1:02.63
  • 200 breast – 2:14.75
  • 50 breast – 23.23
  • 100 free – 51.64

Womer joins fellow commit Stephanie Holmes in the FSU class of 2022.

I think the 50 breast time listed is supposed to be 50 free
