Breaststroke Specialist Jack Foley Commits to Division I Providence College

Jack Foley of Bridgewater, NJ has decided to swim at Providence College beginning in the 2020-2021 season. Foley, a senior at Bridgewater Raritan High School, made the announcement with a post to his Instagram page:

As a member of the Somerset Valley YMCA, Foley most recently competed at the New Jersey EEX Holiday Classic, where he swam the 100 and 200 breast, the 200 and 400 IM, the 100 fly, the 500 free, and two relays. He achieved personal best times in the both breast events and the 200 IM. Foley improved his previous best time of 2:12.18 in the 200 breast by a half second, and his 100 breast by 1.5 seconds for his first sub-1:00 swim.

When he joins in the fall of 2020, Foley will be a top competitor for the Providence College friars. His 100 breast time will make him the team’s fourth fastest breaststroker behind Kevin Hood, Parker Cramer, and Matt Keane. Similarly, he will be competing and training alongside Hood, Cramer, and Keane, as well as Owen Schwab in the 200 breast. His 400 IM time of 4:16.58 will bridge the gap between Justin Viotto and Liam Casey-Minnick’s sub-4:10s and Cristian Twyman’s time of 4:25. Foley’s best times would have landed him in the B-final of the 100 and 200 breast at the 2019 Big East Conference Championships.
