Breaststroke Specialist Josh Erickson-Harris Commits to D3 Wesleyan

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Seacoast Swimming Association’s Josh Erickson-Harris has announced his decision to swim for Division III Wesleyan University. Erickson-Harris shared his excitement, “From the moment I first stepped on campus I knew Wesleyan was my second home. The coaching staff was warm, inviting and made me feel wanted. The team was awesome and made me feel a part of the team as early as my recruit trip. The amazing academics rounded things off perfectly. I can’t wait to swim for four more years. Roll Cards!!!!!!!

Erickson-Harris most recently competed at the Maine Principal’s Association Class A Boys State Championships. The Kennebunk High School senior competed in the 100 free and 100 breast as well as the 200-medley and the 400-free relays. He anchored the 200-medley relay, splitting a 50 free time of 23.42, which helped his team come from behind and out-touch Messalonskee High School for 5th place. He split a 53.51 on the third leg of his team’s 400-free relay which placed 4th. Individually, Erickson-Harris placed 10th in the 100 free (52.98) and 5th in the 100 breast (1:06.85). Aside from swimming, he also played soccer and ran track for Kennebunk High School.

Top Short Course Yards Times:

  • 100 breast – 1:06.85
  • 200 breast – 2:30.93
  • 50 free – 24.83
  • 100 free – 52.98

In the fall, Erickson-Harris will join the Cardinals as they aim to move up in the New England Small College Athletic Conference rankings. He had to take time off for an injury but hopes to be fully healed once he gets to Middletown, CT in the fall of 2020. As he focuses on improving his times in the pool, he will pursue a pre-law curriculum in the classroom.
