Breeja Larson Added to 100 Breast Prelims on Final Day of Pro Swim Series – Austin

On the final day of the 2015 Arena Pro Swim Series – Austin, the biggest news wasn’t in a scratch, rather it was in a late addition to the lineup.

Texas A&M post-grad swimmer Breeja Larson made the short 100-mile drive from College Station to enter the women’s 100 breaststroke where she becomes the top seed ahead of Cal’s Marina Garcia and Ireland’s Fiona Doyle, among others.

Other than her addition, there weren’t many surprises on the psych sheets. Several of the Gator Swim Club pros scratched events, including Andreina Pinto and Marcin Cieslak in the 200 fly, and Fernanda Gonzalez-Ramirez in the 100 back.

Day’s events:

  • 200 fly
  • 100 breast
  • 200 back
  • 200 IM
  • W. 800 free (timed final)
  • M. 1500 free (timed final)
  • 400 medley relay (timed final)

The high seeds in the men’s 100 breaststroke were also hit pretty hard, with Imri Ganiel, Carsten Vissering, and Marcus Titus all scratching on Saturday night.

Editor’s note: The women’s 200 IM seems to be seeded backward. We have passed that along to USA Swimming, but if you’re entered in that event, or waiting to watch someone entered in that event, be sure to pay close attention at race time.
