Some of your oldest competitors now are in Breaststroke. In the past women’s breaststroke was thought as sometimes a teenage event. Amanda Beard at 15 and Megan Qunice at 16 years old. But both male and female breaststrokers are more likey to include post-college swimmers than in the past. Breastroke is timing and once you go thru the body changes and adjust your timing you can swim it almost any age.
Us is a big country that why there are more competitors but Japan and China are the best of the asian countries. US is now about 6 percent asian and the asian swimmers in the US some have made the Semi finals. Breaststroke is a event where height is not important since you have in the case of Hansen closer to average height and size.
MX , Us trials are harder in all races than Japan trials ! that’s what he means …..

Japan trials (59.6 for 2nd) were harder than US (1.00.15 for 2nd) not sure what hes talking about
