Brilliant Swim announces SwimOutlet.com as official PaceWatch retailer

Brilliant Swim is pleased to announce that SwimOutlet.com, the largest online specialty store for aquatics in the United States, has become the first official retailer for its popular PaceWatch swim watch. The PaceWatch, which Brilliant Swim launched last summer, is a slim, wearable pace clock that is simple to use and easy to see, letting swimmers focus on their swimming.

“A pace clock is as familiar to swimmers as a swimsuit or lane lines,” said Jill Klein, VP Merchandising at SwimOutlet.com. “The PaceWatch places your pace times on your wrist, so swimmers can easily see their intervals and know when you leave the wall or track speed. From one swimmer to another, I’m excited to partner with Brilliant Swim for their launch of the PaceWatch.”

Brilliant Swim introduced the PaceWatch in July 2013 and has been selling the product on its website, http://brilliantswim.com. According to Brilliant Swim founder and CEO, Phillip Luebke, orders have come from across the U.S. and around the world. Brilliant Swim has shipped PaceWatch swim watches to customers in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Luxembourg, and even Thailand and South Korea.

For the swimming startup and its niche product, growth, to this point, has been gradual, but that’s likely to change with SwimOutlet.com on board.

“It was always our plan to start out selling direct to consumers so that we could stay close to the end user, get some good product feedback, and work out any kinks,” said Luebke. “If the product was good, and we were dialed in on the needs of our target market, I figured that sales growth and increased distribution would follow. I can’t say that I was expecting SwimOutlet.com to be our first reseller, but when the web’s most popular swim shop comes calling, you jump at the opportunity.”

The PaceWatch is now available for purchase at a price of $74.99 at SwimOutlet.com.

The swim geek in me wishes it had an hour hand.

Does it feature a continuous “sweep” hand or a ticking one?

Ticking. A sweep hand would have bumped the price up a few hundred dollars.
