Eleanor Baldwin, who hails from Derby, England, has announced her verbal commitment to swim for Louisiana State University next fall. Baldwin swims for City of Derby Swim Club and specializes in backstroke events. This past April she won the Girls Junior 200 meter backstroke and placed fourth in the Junior 100 meter backstroke at the British Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
She holds both the open and junior girls regional records in the 200 LCM back, as well as the junior 50 LCM back, and is a member of three relay record teams. That said, she has been even faster in short course meters than in long course meters. Her best times are:

Baldwin will be an immediate impact player for the Tigers. Her 54.4 would have scored in the C final at 2016 SEC Championships and her 1:58.7 would have been just shy of scoring range. LSU lost their top two backstroke scorers (Danielle Stirrat and Caley Oquist) to graduation last year, but have reloaded with young talents like sophomore Haylee Knight and freshmen Andrea Galea and Alexandria Ham.
