Jordan Andrusak, who hails from Victoria, British Columbia and swims for Pacific Coast Swimming, has made a verbal commitment to Bowling Green State University for 2017-18. According to Andrusak’s father, “Jordan made a great connection with [head coach] Matt [Ense] and his program and is looking forward to being a Falcon for the next four years.”
Andrusak specializes in IM and breaststroke, although she has a strong freestyle as well. At the Canadian Swimming Championships in Edmonton this past August, Andrusak competed in the 200m breast, 200m fly, 200m IM, and 400m IM. She finaled in all but the fly, and earned a PB in the 400m IM.
Andrusak has had slightly more success in short course (meters) races than in long course. At the SwimBC AAA Championships in March, she made A finals in the 200m breast and 200/400m IM, and B finals in the 200m free, 100m back, and 100m breast.
Her best SCM times (converted to SCY using our Speedo Time Converter) are:
SCM | SCY | |
200 IM | 2:17.18 | 2:03.58 |
400 IM | 4:47.22 | 4:18.75 |
200 free | 2:03.70 | 1:51.44 |
400 free | 4:22.04 | 5:02.13 |
200 breast | 2:30.70 | 2:15.76 |
200 fly | 2:18.96 | 2:05.18 |
The Falcons finished third, just ahead of Buffalo but over 100 points behind Eastern Michigan at last year’s MAC Championships. Andrusak’s converted times would have contributed A-final points for BGSU in the 200 breast and 400 IM, and B-final points in the 200 free and 200 IM. She will join the BGSU class of 2021 with the following verbal commits:
