British Marathon swimmers prepare for Lake Balaton 10km

A squad of six athletes will be racing their final FINA 10km World Cup before travelling to Kazan for the FINA World Championships.

Olympians Keri-anne Payne and Daniel Fogg will lead the team into action at Lake Balaton, Hungary as they get their final race practice ahead of the Olympic qualification event.

The pair will be joined by Jack Burnell and Danielle Huskisson who will also swim the 10km races in Kazan and Caleb Hughes and Tom Allen who will race in the 5km event.

Brtitish Swimming Marathon Swimming Lead Bernie Dietzig said: “Lake Balaton is our last World Cup before we are heading to Kazan four weeks later. The event will serve as a preparation race providing us with a great opportunity to sharpen up on racing skills.

“The temperature and conditions at Lake Balaton will be perfect for our preparation as they are very similar to Kazan.”
