The trial for former Stanford swimmer Brock Turner wrapped up Monday, with the jury beginning their deliberations Tuesday about the sexual assault allegations brought against the 20-year-old.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, both sides gave their closing arguments over a lengthy session that lased most of Monday afternoon.
The prosecution denied Turner’s claim that the woman he was found with late one night more than a year ago had consented to sexual activity with him.
Turner says the woman danced with him at a frat party and agreed to go home with him. He testified that he and the woman fell down while walking to his dorm, and then she willingly engaged in sexual activity with him on the ground.
The woman says she has no memory of the incident after drinking at the frat party, but her attorney claimed that she wasn’t interested in Turner, and that the former college swimmer was “on the prowl that night.”
Two bikers found Turner on top of the woman’s unconscious body late at night and confronted him. Turner tried to run, but the bikers restrained him.
Turner’s lawyer said the former student did not realize that the woman had passed out, and Turner claimed she was conscious when they began the sexual contact. Turner’s side said he ran because he was afraid of the bikers, not to escape an arrest. The prosecuting attorney, on the other hand, said Turner ran because he knew he had been caught doing something wrong.
The jury began its deliberation Tuesday. If convicted, Turner could face up to 10 years in prison.

Justice was not served at all and Dan definitely does not have a daughter so it is all justified by him.
