Brown Leads The Way At Boston Winter Invite

BOSTON – The Brown men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed during the first day of the Boston Winter Open Friday.

On the day, the women won two events, while the men won three.

The Bear women came away victorious in the 500 free and the 400 IM. Maria Iorini took first in the 500 free with a 4:56.28, while Evie Krall won the 400 IM with a 4:24.33.

On the men’s side, the Bears won the 200 IM, 50 free, and 400 free relay. Jake Regenwetter won the 200 IM with a 1:48.40 and Tucker Peterson claimed first in the 50 free with a 20.53.

In the 400 free relay, a team of Chris Ma, Peterson, Aaron Martin, and Nick Clark took first with a 3:03.15.

The Boston Winter Open continues tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 4.

BOSTON – The Brown men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams completed competition at the Boston Winter Open Saturday.

In total on the day, the women’s team came away with six first place finishes, while the men had five.

Rebecca Waterson had three wins for the Bears in the 100 fly (55.25), 100 back (55.25), and 200 back (2:03.20).

Kellie Willhite won two events; the 100 breast (1:04.00) and 200 breast (2:19.02).

Rounding things out was Maria Iorini with a 200 fly victory with a 2:05.41

On the men’s side, Tucker Peterson and Jake Regenwetter each had a pair of wins. Peterson tok the 100 fly (47.96) and the 100 free (44.85) Regenwetter came in first in the 100 breast (56.05) and the 200 breast (2:00.45).

The men also won the 200 medley relay with a 1:30.82.

Up Next

The women’s Ivy League Championship will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 15, while the men’s starts on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

BOSTON – The Boston College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams wrapped up their regular season this weekend at the Boston Winter Open hosted by Boston University.

The women’s side was led by Lindsey Ryalls (200 IM), Adair Sand (100 Free), and Livy Poulin (1m, 3m Dive) – who each secured first-place finishes during the meet. Poulin swept the 1m and 3m boards with scores of 308.60 and 323.35 respectively. Ryalls also secured two top-five finishes for the Eagles in the 200 Free (4th – 1:52.86) and 200 Fly (5th – 2:06.82).

Greyson Davies (100 Back, 200 Fly), Dale Nickerson (1m Dive), and Christopher Egan (3m Dive) were able to earn first place in their respective events for the men’s side. Both Davies (5th – 50 Free) and Egan (3rd – 1m Dive) also achieved top-five finishes outside of their winning efforts.
