Brown University Raises Money for Swim Across America

This past weekend, The Brown University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams participated in Rhode Island’s Swim Across America at Roger Wheeler State Beach to raise $7,370 to go towards cancer research and education.

This SAA event had the largest group of university athletes to partake in one swim. Brown joined the following universities: Providence, Bryant, Roger Williams, University of Rhode Island, Assumption College, Boston, Holy Cross, UCONN and Wesleyan.

All proceeds from the Roger Wheeler Rhode Island SAA swim will fund the Woman & Infants hospital which is the largest oncology service for women in the Northeast, providing multi-disciplinary services and focus heavily on the needs of patients and families.

Swim Across America is a non-profit organization driven towards raising money for cancer research and education that operates all over the country. Olympians all across the world have participated in the mission to raise awareness for the fight against cancer.
