LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women’s swimming and diving team earned victories against Loyola (Md.) (174-126) and Boston University (187-113) in its opening meet of the season.

Final Results

Bucknell (2-0, 2-0 PL) was bolstered by five individual wins, including two wins from Sabrina Vumbacco in the 500 and 1000 freestyle.  Jennifer Bolden (200 free), Gina Hinthorn (one-meter dive) and Catherine Craig (200 yard breaststroke) also picked up individual wins on Saturday.

Craig also added runner-up finishes in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM to complete a solid day for the Orange and Blue on Saturday.

Bucknell returns to competition on Saturday, October 22 at 1 p.m. at Binghamton.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men’s swimming and diving team topped Loyola (Md.) and Boston University by scores of 154.5-145.5 and 208-90, respectively in the first action of the season for the squad on Saturday afternoon at Kinney Natatorium.

Final Results

The Bison (2-0, 2-0 PL) won seven individual events and one relay on the day.  John Gehrig and Chris Kopac each won multiple events.  Gehrig placed first in the 100 and 200 butterfly, and the 200 individual medley.

Kopac earned his first-place finishes in the 200 and 500 free.   Alex Crossing (1000 free) and Leo Kuyl (50 free) each also earned individual victories on the day.  The Bison also claimed first place in the 400 freestyle relay, with Kuyl, Kopac, Justin DiSanto, and Chris Fabian combining for the victory.

Bucknell returns to competition on Saturday, October 22 at 1 p.m. at Binghamton.
