Caeleb Dressel of the Clay High School in Jacksonville, Florida has broken his own National High School Record at the Florida 2A High School State Championship meet in Stuart, Florida.
He swam a 19.29 leading off Clay’s 200 yard free relay. That broke his own 19.36 done at the mid-season FSPA Invite.
That was his 3rd swim of the day, after coming up short in record tries in his two individual events. First he was a 1:34.69 in the 200 free, although that is one of the fastest high school times in history, and then he swam a 45.99 in the 100 fly, which missed his own public school record by exactly a tenth.
The Clay High School Relay was a 1:24.26, to win the Class 2A title in the relay.
As of posting, Dressel still had a lead off in the 400 free relay to go, with the 100 free as his target. A full recap will be available after the meet.
