First came freshman Cierra Runge, who checked in at #6 on the list after breaking the NCAA Record in the 500 free with a 4:31.90. That moved her up to 4th in the all-time rankings in the event.
Then, at #4, the relay of Runge, Liz Pelton, Caroline Piehl, and Missy Franklin checked in with their record-demolishing 800 free relay that swam a 6:50.18. That is the fastest 800 free relay at any level, and broke the NCAA, American, and U.S. Open Records in the event.
