In the women’s 100 fly A final at the Irvine site of the Speedo Summer Championships, 18-year-old Mia Kragh (Rancho San Dieguito) and 16-year-old Campbell Stoll (Elmbrook Swim Club) each clocked lifetime bests to finish 1st and 2nd respectively.
Kragh led the race wire-to-wire, splitting 27.69 on the first 50, which was the only sub-28 in the field. She was also the fastest in the field coming home, splitting 31.11. Stoll was 28.06 going out, and 31.49 coming home.
For Kragh, the swim was a lifetime best by 0.28 seconds. Her previous best of 59.08 was swum just a week ago, at the Santa Clarita Futures meet. Here is a split comparison between Kragh’s 59.08 previous best, her 59.24 from this morning’s prelims, and her 58.80 from tonight’s final:

Kragh has been incredibly consistent on the 2nd 50s of her races, with all 3 coming with 0.08 seconds of each other. The difference has largely been based off how fast she’s able to take the race out. Her 27.69 opening 50 from tonight was her fastest by a significant margin.

Campbell Stoll, for her part, swam a massive lifetime best tonight. Stoll entered the meet with a lifetime best of 1:00.46, which she swam in May of this year. In prelims this morning, she clocked a 1:00.54. Then she swam a 59.55 in finals tonight, breaking 1:00 for the first time in her career, and rising to #25 all-time for 15-16 girls.
