BERKELEY – The California men’s swimming & diving team has announced its 2021-22 schedule, featuring four regular-season home competitions and a trip to Minneapolis for the mid-season Minnesota Invite on Dec. 1-4.

The action starts this Friday, Sept. 24, when the Golden Bears dive into the annual King of the Pool meet against Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. Three weeks later, Cal will host Virginia – which finished ninth at the 2021 NCAA Championships – in a non-conference dual meet at Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley. A split-squad weekend on Oct. 22-24 will see the Bears travel to Salt Lake City for their first Pac-12 dual meet of the season vs. Utah (Oct. 22) and to Stockton for the Pacific Invite (Oct. 23-24).

Cal’s lone competition in November will be the annual Triple Distance Meet against Stanford on Nov. 5 in Berkeley. The Bears will conclude the 2021 calendar year with the four-day Minnesota Invite, hosted by the Golden Gophers at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

The 2022 portion of the schedule starts when Cal hosts conference dual meets against Arizona (Jan. 21) and Arizona State (Jan. 22). Another split-squad weekend on Feb. 4-5 will send the Bears to USC (Feb. 4) and the UC San Diego Invite (Feb. 4-5). The regular season finishes with a dual meet at Stanford on Feb. 19.

Postseason action begins in late February and early March with the Pac-12 Diving Championships (Feb. 23-26) and Pac-12 Swimming Championships (March 2-5) at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. The campaign builds to the NCAA Championships on March 23-26, hosted by Georgia Tech at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.

Cal’s diving-specific regular-season schedule will be announced at a later date.

Admission to all home meets at Spieker Aquatics Complex is free. Under current state and local public health guidelines, fans are strongly encouraged to wear facial coverings in crowded outdoor areas when in attendance at home events this season. Facial coverings are required at all times in indoor spaces (such as restrooms) for guests ages 2 and up regardless of vaccination status, unless actively eating or drinking. Masks will be available at the entrance for fans upon request.
