California IMer Rachel Hendricks Commits to Davidson

Rachel Hendricks, a senior at Campolindo High School in Moraga, California, has committed to swim for the Davidson College Wildcats next fall. Hendricks competed for Campolindo at the 2016 CIF-North Coast Section Championships last May, placing 19th in the 200 IM and 22nd in the 100 fly. She also went on to swim at the 2nd CIF State Championships, where she led off Campo’s 15th-place 200 medley relay in 27.83 after swimming the fly leg in prelims.

Outside of high school swimming, Hendricks competes for Orinda Aquatics. She tends to specialize in 200/400 IM, 100/200 fly, and 100 back. Hendricks had a particularly strong junior year, achieving personal bests across the board in just about all her events in both SCY and LCM seasons. She improved dramatically in a number of events, as evidenced below:

  2016 2015
200y IM 2:09.88 2:11.84
100y fly 58.76 59.39
200y fly 2:10.69 2:22.77
100y back 1:00.94 1:03.51
200m IM 2:30.54 2:36.11
100m fly 1:07.37 1:09.93

As she continues to develop, Hendricks has the potential to add significantly to the Wildcats’ efforts as soon as she first suits up next fall.
