Cal’s Alexy, Vavitsas Collect Pac-12 Men’s Swim & Dive Weekly Honors

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Jack Alexy, Jr., CALIFORNIA (Mendham, N.J)

  • Competed in four events to help the No. 2 Golden Bears to a win over No. 17 USC 193-106, scoring a total of 18 points across four events.
  • Swept the 50 (19.30) and 100 (41.49) yard free events, finishing just ahead of his fellow Cal Bear teammate.
  • Swimming a 19.10 split in the 200 Free Relay and anchoring the 400 Medley Relay, Alexy finished the weekend with another pair of wins, and a sweep.
  • First career Pac-12 Men’s Swimmer of the Week.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Geoffrey Vavitsas, Fr, CALIFORNIA (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

  • Took home two podium finishes in the Golden Bears victory over USC.
  • Finished second in the 1 Meter with a score that marked his best of the season and the fifth best in program history (321.80).
  • Finding another place in the Cal record book, the freshman scored a 317.40 on the 3 Meter to solidify his second top-10 record in the event and second place at the meet.
  • First career Pac-12 Men’s Diver of the Week.
