Vandenberg is a breaststroke specialist from Scarborough Swim Club. She is coming off a strong summer long course season that culminated in lifetime-bests in the 50, 100, and 200 meter breaststrokes, while swimming at the 2016 ASA National Summer Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, England. Vandenberg won the girls’ 17-and-older 50m breast (33.24), 100m breast (1:12.56), and 200m breast (2:39.73).

Vandenberg also excels in IMs. Her top times are:

  SCM SCY (Speedo Time Converter)
50 breast 34.23 30.83
100 breast 1:10.79 1:03.77
200 breast 2:33.66 2:18.43
200 IM 2:17.94 2:04.27
400 IM 4:56.65 4:27.25

Vandenberg will add even more firepower to the already-dominant Denver Pioneers, whose women won the 2016 Summit League Championships by over 530 points.
