Carsten Vissering is one of a number of high school age breaststrokers trading blows across the country this year. Vissering rattled the national independent high school record in the 100 breast at 53.49 back in February, but since then was leapfrogged by Andrew Seliskar and Jacob Molacek as Seliskar took down the overall high school record and then Molacek bettered that with the first 52-second swim of the bunch.
But now Vissering has hit back, going 52.83 to break the 15-16 National Age Group record while winning the NCSA Junior National title.
Vissering was out in 24.84 and came home in 27.99 to beat out a tough field and break the NAG record Seliskar set last year at 53.26.
Considering the 100 breast is a power event, scary to think what the future looks like for Vissering and Seliskar once they get further into weight training.

Back when I was swimming in the DC area, the only thing I remember like this was when Jack Conger broke the 200 scy backstroke record held by Brady Fox, who was 3 years older. They both trained at RMSC at the same site.
