CCSA Announces Latham and Joyal for Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (TheCCSA.com) –  Florida Gulf Coast sophomore Katie Latham (Deal Kent, UK) has been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Liberty’s Jenna Joyal (New Fairfield, Conn.) has been named CCSA Women’s Diver of the Week, for meets contested Oct. 3-10, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

At the FGCU Classic, Latham swam the 50 free in 23.22 seconds for second place and the 100 free in 50.79 seconds for third. She helped the Eagles to the third fastest 200 and 400 relays and the ninth fastest 200 medley relay (1:42.64) in the country this season. Her splits in the 200 free (23.33) and 400 free (50.21) relays were the second fastest in the event.

Joyal completed her first career meet at the Intermountain Shootout, where she finished 14th in the three-meter diving with a score of 143.25. She also placed 13th in one-meter diving with a score of 158.15.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Rachel Hoeve (Liberty) and Caroline Clark (Campbell).
