The Central Connecticut women’s swimming and diving team won each event on its way to a win in its home opener. The Blue Devils defeated Northeast Conference newcomer Stonehill, 107-79, at Suydam Natatorium.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- The Blue Devils 200 medley relay team of Kelly Stotler, Ella Discala Cassidy Stotler and Katie Czulewicz opened the action with a time of 1:50.05
- Rookie Gabi Wroblewski dropped one of the top times in the NEC this season in her win in the 400 IM, touching at 4:36.32
- Cassidy Stotler won the 100 fly in a time of 58.20, the fastest in the conference thus far in 2022-23
- Kelly Stotler, Czulewicz, Welcome and Dunningan completed the effort with a win in the 200 freestyle relay

The Blue Devils host New Hampshire in a two-day event, Friday and Saturday, November 28-29. Competition begins Friday at 5pm and Saturday at 11am.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (October 23, 2022) – Stonehill College women’s swimming traveled to Connecticut for a conference dual meet at Central Connecticut State University at Jack Suydam Natatorium on Saturday.
Highlights
- Senior captain Nika Sokolova (Andover, Massachusetts/Andover) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.37).
- Freshman Kristy Barry (Ellsworth, Maine/Ellsworth) finished second in the 400-yard individual medley relay and placed second (4:48.45), as well as the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.10).
- The Skyhawks top 200-yard freestyle relay team placed second in 1:46.95 with freshman Taylor Belanger (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston). sophomore Jami Hepburn (Nassau, Bahamas), sophomore Sofiya Gobora (Sarasota, Florida/Pine View School), and junior Sydney Stockwell (Hopkinton, New Hampshire/Hopkinton) swam the event.
- Stockwell also turned in a strong time in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing second in 26.07-seconds. She was also second in the 100-free in 56.97-seconds.
- Sophomore Sharlotte Lundell (Bourne, Massachusetts/Sturgis East Charter School) placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.04.
- Stonehill’s top 200-yard medley relay team comprised of Barry, Hepburn, junior Katie Keating (East Lyme, Connecticut/East Lyme), and freshman Isabel Nelson (Schenectady, New York/Niskayuna) placed second in 1:57.78.
- Hepburn also turned in a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:11.28.
- Central Connecticut State won the dual meet with 107 points, with Stonehill finishing with 79.
