Statistically, does anyone know have any other siblings swimming for different divisions, ever both won their divisions in the same year on the same night? The Mc Dermott sisters just accomplished that. Amber swims for Georgia, division 1 and Courtney swims for Emory, division 3. Both schools won their divisions and both girls swam the 1650 on the last day!! Congratulations to both schools!!!!

Congrats Georgia Bulldawgs! A much deserved and clearly hard-worked for win! I am sure Schmitt and Romano will be much missed on the team. They are both outstanding swimmers, and I am so happy for the seniors that they got to experience winning a National Championship – something I know at least Schmitt has said in interviews was a chief reason for coming back to UGA. Their legacy will be much more than their great swimming ability though – you can really tell they are great team leaders and team players as well, and it seems the younger girls on the team are absorbing that lesson. Congrats to Cal, Tenn and all the teams for a great meet too. Tenn… Read more »

The Pac 12 vs SEC could go on for awhile. I agree that from a relay and team standing standpoint, the SEC did better than the Pac 12.
However, individual winners at NCAA included:
50 Free- Geer, Arizona, PAC 12
100 Free- Geer, Arizona, PAC 12
200 Free- Schmitt, Georgia, SEC
500 Free- Anderson, USC, PAC 12
1650 Free- Anderson, USC, PAC 12
100 Back- Bootsma, CAL, PAC 12
200 Back- Pelton, CAL, PAC 12
100 Brst- Larson, TXAM, SEC
200 Brst- Sogar, Texas, Big 12
100 Fly- Scott, Auburn, SEC
200 Fly- Adams, TXAM, SEC
200 IM- Leverenz, CAL, PAC 12
400 IM- Beisel, Florida,… Read more »

The sec had 4 out if the top six and almost 4 out of the top 5. I would say this year for the women sec is on top.

Unlike last year where the relays killed UGA the first day and was too much to recover, it was a valuable lesson to this very young team. Last year you had a lot of freshman and nerves were a factor when going against a tough Cal team. This year the team talked about getting back and winning it all with confidence. For all the talk about the PAC 12 being the best conference….check out the standings. Four of the top six were SEC, as a DAWG fan next year in the SEC is going to be a dogfight (now pun intended). No doubt the team will miss Allison, but the team realy wanted to make sure they gave a title… Read more »
