Ohio State commit Charlotte LePage swam to a huge best time of a 17:02.36 in the 1500 freestyle to win the race by over 15 seconds. LePage’s previous best time was a 17:27.81 that she swam at the end of last summer, marking a 25-second drop this weekend.
The #2 ranked recruit in the high school class of 2025 Teagan O’Dell swam to two wins on the final night of competition in Minneapolis. O’Dell picked up her first win swimming a 2:13.98 in the women’s 200 IM. That was about a second off her best as her best time stands at a 2:12.53 from August 2021.
She swam to another win as she touched in a 2:10.73 in the 200 back to win by over three and a half seconds. Her best time stands at a 2:07.97 that she swam at last month’s US Olympic Trials for 5th in semifinals before she went on to finish 8th in finals.
Minnesota’s Hannah Cornish swam to a 25.55 in the 50 free, just off her best of a 25.45 that she swam at 2023 Canadian Trials.
Highlighting the men’s side of the meet was Blake Rowe who swam to a 2:01.57 in the 200 backstroke. The Purdue commit already swam a best time in the 100 back earlier this week and this time was faster than his old best time of a 2:01.95 in the 200 that he swam in May. His best time coming into the season was a 2:05.00.
Ryan Slonac of Minnesota swam to a best time in his 200 IM win. He touched in a 2:02.76, faster than his previous best of a 2:04.91 that he swam in May. He came into this season with a best time of a 2:06.57 that he swam at the end of his high school career at NCSAs.
The 800 free came down to the final tough as Jiarui Xue won in a 8:14.31, just off his best of a 8:14.02. Freddy Klein was 2nd in a 8:14.81, about four seconds off his best. 16 year old Mike Rice won the 50 free in a 23.04, just off his best of a 23.03 from May.
