China Would Add Two More Medals After Parked Stripped of Asian Games Results

South Korean superstar Park Tae-Hwan will be stripped of his medals from the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, as a result of an 18-month doping suspension handed out by FINA after a hearing on Monday.

That means that all 6 of his medals will have to be reallocated, and Japan were the big winners.

Now, two out of three original medalists in both the 200 and 400 freestyles at this meet served doping suspensions in 2015, though China’s Sun Yang did not have his results from the Asian Games stripped (his suspension was served quietly earlier in the year). None of the below changes are likely to be made official until Park chooses whether or not to appeal the decision by the FINA Doping Panel, though any reduction in suspension length likely still includes forfeiture of results that happened within three weeks of his positive test.
