Christina Kilpatrick will be wearing blue and green next season, as she’s verbally committed to stay in state and join the NSISC champion University of West Florida Argonauts next fall. Kilpatrick swims club for the Central Florida Marlins, and will graduate from Vanguard High School at the end of this school year.
Kilpatrick is primarily a distance swimmer, with her best events ranging from the 200 free to the 1650 free, as well as the 400 IM. Last season, she placed in the top 8 of the 1000 free (3rd), 500 free (6th), and 1650 free (6th) at the Florida Swimming Senior Championships. She also collected a 10th place finish in the 400 IM and a 15th place finish in the 200 free at that meet.
Kilpatrick’s Top Times:
Event | Best time |
200 free | 1:56.46 |
500 free | 5:06.45 |
1000 free | 10:24.75 |
1650 free | 17:41.03 |
400 IM | 4:38.07 |
When she arrives at West Florida, Kilpatrick should have an immediate scoring impact at the NSISC Championships. Her best times would’ve landed her in the top 8 of 3 events last season: The 500 free (5th), 1000 free (4th), and 1650 free (8th). She’s also good enough to have made the B-final in the 200 free and 400 IM.
At UWF, Kilpatrick will train alongside Madeline Pitt and Angie Gallastegui, who both placed in the top 3 of the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyles at conference last season. Pitt was the NSISC champion in the 1000 free.
