Cincinnati’s St. Xavier Solidifies Beerman As Head Coach

Former Assistant Coach Tim Beerman will be taking over the role of Head Coach of Cincinnati’s St. Xavier High School Swimming & Diving program, the school announced this week

Beerman had been in the role of interim head coach for the 2015-16 season since former head coach Jim Brower stepped down last season. Brower remained as a full-time varsity coach, but had moved to a different role within the program.

St. Xavier, the home of past Olympian Joe Hudepohl and future Olympic hopeful Grant House, has a history of dominating the Ohio High School swimming circuit, having won 9 straight state titles from 1999 to 2007 and 8 in a row from 2009 to 2016.

Beerman comes to the positions with 21 years of coaching experience under his belt, including 10 years at St. Xavier. He was also the Head Coach at Cincinnati’s Ursuline Academy, where the girls earned 4 state titles in his 13 years at the helm. Beerman claims several league and district coach of the year awards and was named National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) Coach of the Year in 2001.

“It is an honor to continue the work of upholding the tradition which is St. Xavier swimming and diving,” Beerman said. “Each day brings the opportunity to stand side by side with some of the best coaches in the sport – all in the effort of assisting dedicated student-athletes as they uncover their potential.”
