St. Bonaventure women’s swimming coach Krista Carlson announced that Brittany Hart, Shannon McLaughlin, Sam Kuchinski, Aly Kinsella znd Lauren Anderson have all signed National Letters of Intent to enroll at St. Bonaventure University and join the Bonnies Women’s swim team beginning in the fall of 2015.
Brittany Hart | Riverside High School
Brittany, a Ellwood City, Pa native was a two sport athlete at Riverside high school competing in track and field in addition to Diving. She is the current 11 dive record holder at riverside, and led her team to a co-sectional championship last season. As a senior she finished second in both the WPIAL and MAC Championship meets as well as PIAA state runner up. She is the daughter of Rick and Tania Hart and plans to major in Accounting.
Shannon a senior at Canton high School in Canton, Mass competed in varsity swimming her freshman and sophomore years. As a sophomore she was named League All-Star and received the team’s sportsmanship award. In her freshman season she set record in 50, 100, 200 and 500 freestyle events as well as the 100 butterfly record. She plans to major in Biology
Sam Kuchinski | Owego Free Academy
Sam is currently a senior at Owego Free Academy in New York. She is a two sport athlete who participates in track and field in addition to swimming. As a senior she led the Indians to an undefeated season and sixth consecutive sectional championship. She currently owns four school records and has qualified for the New York state meet all four years. Sam is the daughter of Lora and Joe Kuchinski and plans to major in Marketing and Communications.
Aly Kinsella | Zion Benton Township
As a senior at Zion Benton Aly broke the 100-yd breastroke record that was set in 1985. She was also a member of the record setting 200-yd Medley Relay, named MVP and team captain her senior season. She was an All-Academic selection in swimming as well as soccer. Aly is the daughter of David and Meagan and plans to major in Biology.
Lauren Anderson | Williamsville East
Lauren, a senior at Williamsville East High School in Buffalo has been a four year standout for the Flames. As a senior she was a New York State meet qualifier and owns her high school pool record in the 500 freestyle. She is a member of the National Honor society, and was a awarded the Western New York scholar athlete award. Lauren is the daughter of Bill and Cindy, she has a sister Alyssa (19) and a brother Michael (22). She plans to major in Biology.
Coach Carlson’s thoughts on the recruiting class: “I could not be more excited about these 5 student athletes who will be joining the Bonaventure family in the fall. They each bring something to the pool and classroom that will make our team stronger next year. With these five signing their National Letters of Intent this spring, that brings us to a total of 9 incoming freshmen; 8 swimmers and 1 diver and I think we are going to see these ladies make an immediate impact to our team”
