2019 SWEDISH SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • Wednesday, November 13th – Sunday, November 17th
  • Munktellbadet, Sweden
  • SCM
  • Start Lists/Results

The 2019 Swedish Short Course Championships are set to get underway this Wednesday, with the nation’s junior and senior talent hitting the Munktellbadet pool for the 5-day affair.

Although Olympic champion and World Record holder Sarah Sjostrom is absent from the entry lists, her sprinting partner-in-crime Michelle Coleman is set to make several appearances before all is said and done.

In fact, Coleman is coming straight off racing across this year’s World Cup circuit where the 26-year-old punched new personal bests including 24.26 in the 50m free, 53.04 in the 100m free, 28.59 in the 50m back and 26.14 in the 50m fly.

Two-time European Junior Championships medalist Robin Hanson is also slated to race this weekend to get some SCM competition under his belt.

The teen already made his mark this year on the long course scene, having taken 200m free gold at Euro Jrs in Kazan in a time of 1:46.93 and clocking 49.05 for 100m free silver. He followed that up with an additional 2 medals at the World Junior Championships, reaping 100m free bronze in 49.25 and 200m free silver in 1:47.03.

Additional racers to look for at these Swedish Short Course Championships include Adam Paulsson, Simon Sjodin, Erik Persson, Ida Liljeqvist, Edith Jernstedt, and Hanna Eriksson.

I don’t get the freestyle specialist Coleman hype. You have to be IM champion to be a real champion. Federer is a real champion. He is super in all aspects of tennis. Coleman is the Ivo Karlović of swimming. Monster serve but not much else. Ivo earned $9,832,645 and that is great but nobody would call him the greatest tennis player.
Hosszu is more like Federer.

Yeah, and Usian Bolt isn’t an athlethics legend, because he didn’t run hurdles or compete in the long jump… 😉

The winner of decathlete Olympic gold medal is considered the greatest athlete.

It’s safe to say that a lot of people hold decathletes high in that aspect. On the other hand, many also say the same thing about the winner of the “fastest man in the world” 100m, the “blue ribbon event” 1500m, and the legendary Marathon, Opinions and facts are two different things, despite what Donald states in his tweets. 😉
