HAMILTON – The Colgate women’s swimming and diving team secured 12 event victories en route to a dominant 184-57 victory over Le Moyne on Friday evening at Lineberry Natatorium.

MG King and Addisyn Donfris each tallied two individual wins to pace the Raiders. Anna Schwartz contributed to a pair of relay victories as Colgate’s groupings won both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard free relays in the triumph.

King claimed the top spot in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.53, besting second-place teammate Regan Hau by seven seconds. King also secured first place in the 100-yard back with a time of 59.80 seconds.

Donfris claimed first place in the 200-yard free with a final time of 1:59.45, followed by Nora Bergstrom (2:00.00) and Zoe Stokes (2:00.89) in second and third, respectively. Donfris added a first-place finish in the 500-yard free, touching the wall in 5:22.07.

Meg Erickson paced the field of seven swimmers in the 1,000-yard free, clocking in at 10:55.92. Dana WitteKatie Senglaub, and Emma Senglaub followed in second, third, and fourth, respectively.

Elizabeth Rainey won the 50-yard free in 24.99 seconds, while Lucy Art secured first in the 100-yard free (53.68). Audrey Collins captured first place in the 100-yard fly after turning in a time of 58.68 seconds.

Fabiana Codella (218.95) and Ellie Sundin (221.00) took first-place finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, respectively.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Schwartz, Brooke GarretsonAlexandra Mehos, and Jordan Hurt secured the top spot with a time of 1:50.66, besting Le Moyne’s closest quartet by nearly four seconds. Colgate’s 200-yard free relay team of Bergstrom, Art, Donfris, and Schwartz bested Le Moyne’s second-place team by just under two seconds (1:42.36).

HAMILTON – Led by seven event victories, the Colgate men’s swimming and diving team captured a 145-92 victory over Le Moyne on Friday evening at Lineberry Natatorium.

Matthew Szypula paced Colgate with two individual wins, while Ryan Jee was a part of two wins which included Colgate’s 200-yard medley relay victory.

Szypula earned first place in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:47.45, less than a second faster than teammate Scott Pejic. Szypula’s second victory came in the 500-yard free, clocking in at 4:59.65, four seconds faster than teammate Jack Lira in second place.

Peyton Wray secured the top spot in the 100-yard free, turning in a time of 10:20.10. Jee’s individual victory came in the 100-yard fly with a time of 52.95 seconds. Jack Schurtz-Ford claimed medalist honors in the 100-yard back after touching the wall in 52.48 seconds.

Colgate’s 200-yard medley relay team of Neil Nejame, Jee, Timothy Brooks, and Jack Lira claimed first place with a time of 1:38.75. The Raiders’ second quartet of Schurtz-Ford, Morgan CecilScott Pejic, and Gavin Perez turned in a second-place time of 1:38.95.

Owen McCabe once again paced the field in the 3-meter dive, turning in a score of 208.95.

Hamilton, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams opened their dual-meet schedule on Friday night at Colgate University at the Lineberry Natatorium. Colgate won the women’s team competition, 184-57, and the Raiders were 145-92 victors on the men’s side.

“Tonight was a bunch of firsts for our program,” said head coach Adam Zaczkowski ’04. “First Division I dual meet, first event wins for both the men’s and women’s programs. The results tell us that our hard work and determination is paying off. We still have ground to gain, but I am proud of the men and women of Le Moyne swimming and diving. We have a quick turn around and are back action tomorrow against a good St Mike’s squad.”

“The divers all put in a lot of effort this week to improve their dive lists,” said diving coach Mihali Tzetzis. “By adding extra twists and rotations to their dives, we are starting to see an improvement in our scores and determination! We are looking forward to showing off our new dives at home tomorrow.”

Freshman Justin Enser (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) earned the team’s first victory of the evening by touching the wall in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.99 seconds to edge his competition by just 0.04.

Sophomore Xavier Silaika (Rexford, N.Y./Shenendehowa) followed with a victory in the 200-yard IM, also by 0.04, by posting a time of 2:03.74.

Sophomore Patrick Scott (Utica, N.Y./New Hartford/Niagara) placed second in the three-meter diving event with a score of 194.15. He later was victorious off the one-meter board with a score of 235.75.

Junior Belal Aly (Syracuse, N.Y./PSLA @ Fowler) won the 100-yard freestyle by almost one second by touching the wall in 48.55 seconds.

Redshirt junior Ryan McMahon (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) captured first place in the 100-yard breaststroke by registering a mark of 1:03.45.

Freshman Tim Landgraf (Lexington, N.Y.) turned in a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 55.68 seconds.

Landgraf, Enser, Aly and Silaika won the meet-ending 200-yard freestyle relay by one and one-half seconds in 1:28.28.

Freshman Madeleine O’Dea (Milton, Ontario/Milton District) claimed the program’s first victory of the season by winning the 100-yard breaststroke by over 1.7 seconds with a mark of 1:08.23.

Freshman Kayleigh Bigwarfe (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem) registered a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle by posting a time of 25.84 seconds.

Freshman Zoe Coburn (Hickory, N.C./St. Stephens) tallied a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.09.

The quartet of redshirt junior MaryLauren Burke (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton), freshman Victoria Hewitt (Fulshear, Texas/Jordan), freshman Lucy Catalano (Glenville, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) and redshirt junior Lily Buchholz (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) closed out the meet by placing second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:44.05.

The Dolphins open their home schedule on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Saint Michael’s College at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool.
