Colorado Diver Taylor Jackson Verbally Commits to Seton Hall Pirates

Taylor Jackson of Thornton, Colorado has verbally committed to the Seton Hall Pirates women’s swimming and diving team for 2017-18. Jackson is a senior at Mountain Range High School in Westminster, and also a member of Sagebrush Diving Club with coach Kevin Sage.

“From the very beginning of recruiting, I imagined myself attending Seton Hall.  When I visited, every bit of it went far beyond my expectations.  How could I turn down a great school that will prepare me for success in the classroom, a team I already consider family, and coaches that will make me a stronger athlete and a school I can call home for the next four years?  I couldn’t!  I look forward to my future at Seton Hall University and I am proud to say I am a pirate and I am #Hallin!

Jackson grew up in swimming and gymnastics until opting to dive full time in 2011. She has competed in both USA Diving and AAU Diving events, including:

  • 7 USA Diving Regional meets
  • 3 USA Diving Summer Zone meets
  • 2 USA Diving Junior West National meets
  • 1 USA Diving Summer Junior National meet making it to finals and placing 9th on 1M
  • 3 AAU Diving National meets placing as 2nd on 1M and 3M in 2013
  • 1 USA Diving Synchro National meet

At her most recent USA Diving Zone meet Jackson competed in the Women’s Senior 1 meter and finished in 7th place, just 13 points away from making it to Nationals.

Jackson holds both the 6-dive and 11-dive records at Mountain Range High School. She set them first as a freshman, then surpassed again as a sophomore. She did not compete high school her junior year due to time conflict with competitive diving practice, but will be returning for her senior year.
