Colorado Freestyler Aaron Sett Commits to University of Pittsburgh

Lakewood High School freestyle standout Aaron Sett will be joining the University of Pittsburgh Panthers’ roster in 2015. An NISCA All-American in the 500 Free, Sett took down Lakewood records in the 200 and 500 Free at the Dick Rush Memorial Swim & Dive Invitation in March. He went on to place third in the 500 Free and ninth in the 200 Free as a junior at the CHSAA 5A State Championships.

Sett swims for Foothills Swim Team in Colorado, and his top 500 Free time of 4:28.76 already takes the top honor on Pitt’s list five top times for the 2014-2015 collegiate season. It looks like Sett will be making early waves as part of Pitt’s middle-distance and distance crew, and will be a considerable force for Pitt at the ACC Championships in 2016.

I’m glad Aaron committed to this team. It is a fine team that consists of an actor from Workaholics, an Eagle Scout from the neighborhood of Stone Lakes (who happens to be a ginger), a Santa Monican who went to a very small high school, and a rapper not an adapter who’s got a laptop in his back pocket. Alas, congrats Aaron. Best wishes to you next year in the Steel City. Go Penguins!
