Colorado Mesa’s Agata Naskret Breaks D2 Record in the 100 Back for the Third Time This Season

2025 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championship

Colorado Mesa University junior Agata Naskret has re-broken her own NCAA Division II Record in the 100 yard backstroke, punching a 51.52 in the event final to defend her title.

That shaved .01 seconds off her 51.53 from the leadoff leg of the 400 medley relay on Thursday.

Earlier this season, Naskret, a junior, set a goal to break the Division II record in the event, which stood at 52.52. She ticked that box during the midseason CMU Invitational, where she swam 51.96 and brought the mark under 52 seconds for the first time. The meet was at altitude, so while she swam 51.96, the time showed as 51.86 on the psych sheet.

Splits Comparison:

New D2 Record Medley Relay Leadoff Midseason
50y 25.11 24.95 25.39
100y 26.41 26.58 26.57
Total Time 51.52 51.53 51.96

The runner-up Luna Mertins, a 5th year from Lynn College, went 52.37, which moves her into 3rd place all-time in D2 history, while Augustana’s Bryn Greenwaldt, the winner of the 50 free earlier in the meet, went 52.49 that now ranks her 7th all-time in D2 history.
