Adee Weller of the Boulder Swim Team in Boulder, CO, has verbally committed to the University of North Carolina at Asheville. The senior at Fairview High School was a finalist at the 2013-14 Girls 5A Colorado State Championships, finishing 5th in the 500-yard free in a time of 5:05.83.

Weller’s best times (done at altitude) are:

  • 100-yard free: 53.58
  • 200-yard free: 1:54.58
  • 500-yard free: 5:01.78
  • 1000-yard free: 10:25.91
  • 1650-yard free: 17:23.37

“I chose UNCA because I felt at home, and the team welcomed me with open arms. The area is beautiful, and I couldn’t be more excited to be spending my next four years there!” – Weller

Weller’s best times would have placed her on the Bulldogs all-time top-performances list, with her 500-yard, 1000-yard and 1650-yard free events placing 2nd, 4th and 5th respectively. Her 500-yard best time would have also been good for an 8th place finish in the A-final of the 2015 CCSA Championships.

So far, UNCA have focused their recruiting efforts on freestylers, next season Weller will join new teammates free/flyer Skylar Rogan and free/flyer Madison Rogan in the Bulldogs class of 2020.
