Colorado State’s Goodwyn Picks Up Mountain West Swimmer Of The Week

Colorado State sophomore Marie Goodwyn has been named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced today.

The Cheyenne Mountain High School product won all three individual events she competed in on Friday against Houston. In total, Goodwyn recorded 27 of CSU’s 122.5 total team points.

Goodwyn won the 100 and 200 Butterfly events, with times of 56.97 and 2:05.13 respectively. She also won the 200 IM (2:06.33). She is undefeated in individual events this year, having swept the 100 and 200 Fly in all four meets this season.

The Colorado Springs, Colo., native ranks second in the MW in the 200 Fly (2:03.80 vs. Denver), fifth in the 100 Fly (56.44 at Wyoming) and third in the 200 IM (2:04.36 vs. Denver).

Goodwyn is CSU’s first MW Swimmer of the Week since Jessica Shepard earned the honor on Jan. 22, 2014.
