Colorado’s Courtnie Lingaas Commits to University of Sioux Falls

Thornton, Colorado’s Courtnie Lingaas has announced her commitment to the University of Sioux Falls for the fall of 2018. She will be a part of the Cougars’ class of 2022. The University of Sioux Falls competes at the NCAA Division II level.

“Proud to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Sioux Falls. I can’t wait to continue my swimming career and my education at the collegiate level!”

The high school senior swims year-round at Front Range Barracudas, and attends Horizon High School in Thornton. At the 2017 CHSAA Girls 5A State Championship meet as a junior, she placed 27th in the 200 SCY free (2:01.25) and 33rd in the 500 SCY free (5:29.06). Lingaas was also a member of the 18th-place 200 SCY freestyle relay team and the 19th-place 400 SCY freestyle relay team.

Lingaas is a promising fit for the Cougars. She will join the team as part of their third year in existence. Her best 500 SCY free time of 5:23.41 would have landed Lingaas in the B Final at the NSIC conference championships in 2017. Additionally, her best 1650 SCY time of 18:18.37 would have placed eighth at the same meet.

Her top SCY times include:

  • 200 Free – 2:00.39
  • 500 Free – 5:23.41
  • 1650 Free – 18:18.37
  • 200 Back – 2:12.33
  • 400 IM – 4:59.22
