Colton Hall, a senior at Medfield High School, in Medfield, Massachusetts, has elected to spend his collegiate career at Colgate University. As a sophomore, Hall was a Massachusetts High School Division 2 state finalist in both the 200 IM (12th) and 100 fly (9th); he also swam breast on Medfield’s medley relay.
Hall swims for Adirondack Aquatic Club in Franklin, Mass. His best performances over this past season have included:
SCY:
- 50 fly – 23.95
- 100 fly – 51.71
- 100 breast – 1:01.78
- 200 IM – 2:01.10
- 200 free – 1:47.66
LCM:
- 50 fly – 26.23
- 100 fly – 57.66
- 100 breast – 1:13.24
- 50 free – 25.36
- 100 free – 55.90
This is only the second recruiting season for new coach Andy Waeger, and already the Raiders are moving up in the Patriot League standings. After a ninth-place finish at the 2014 conference championship, Colgate was eighth last year, and within striking range of both Lafayette (7th) and Loyola (6th). It’s a tough conference, however, with only an “A” and a “B” final in each event, and with heavy domination from Navy. At the 2015 Patriot League Championships, it took 50.83 to make finals in the men’s 100 fly, 57.09 in the 100 breast, and 1:53.51 in the 200 IM.
Hall has dropped 3.5 seconds in his 100 fly over the last 2 seasons and 14.7 in the 200 IM. If he continues to progress he should be a strong contributor to the Raiders’ efforts.
