Complete Rio Results Book Now Available

The competitive pool swimming portion of the 2016 Olympic Games has concluded, but not before several records were broken, stars were made and history was re-written. For swim nerds out there who can’t get enough data analysis, Rio 2016 has now made the entire results book available.

Within the document, you’ll find the following categories to help satisfy your own personal meet review:

  • Overall Medal Standing by Nation
  • Medalists by Event
  • Official Communication – this part is particularly interesting because it gives the official verbiage surrounding a number of disqualifications and clarifications that transpired throughout the meet.
    • Reduction of men’s relay teams to 16
    • 100m breaststroke swim-off called off for men, due to swimmer withdrawal
    • Women’s 100m breaststroke disqualification revocation
    • Hungary’s freestyle relays were disqualified
    • Puerto Rican swimmer deemed ineligible
    • Greek swimmer withdrawn due to positive doping tests
    • Poland’s 4x200m men’s freestyle relay disqualified
    • Minor change to women’s 50m freestyle ceremony.

Just curious why OMEGA doesn’t include Olympic results on their page. I’m sure it has something to do with coverage rights, but why not include the results after the fact (2012/2008, and eventually this year).
