2022 FINA WORLD CUP – TORONTO

È iniziata la seconda tappa della Coppa del Mondo FINA 2022. Questa volta siamo a Toronto e, per questo motivo, abbiamo guadagnato un certo numero di nuotatori dell’emisfero occidentale che non erano presenti alla prima tappa di Berlino.

Katie Ledecky si è subito fatta notare nei 400 stile libero, chiudendo le batterie in 3:56.23, risultando l’unica nuotatrice sotto i 4 minuti. La sedicenne Summer McIntosh ha affrontato la gara con un ritmo simile a quello della Ledecky, ma non l’ha tenuta come quest’ultima. Dopo aver girato in 1:27.42 ai 150 metri, la McIntosh è scesa sotto l’1:00 e ha concluso in 4:01.11 per il secondo posto assoluto. Siobhan Haughey, la prima testa di serie, si è piazzata seconda dietro la McIntosh nella manche finale, con un tempo di 4:02.68.

Tra le performance più interessanti delle batterie, il sedicenne canadese Aiden Norman, ha nuotato i 200 dorso maschili in 1:53.66, stracciando il suo record personale e diventando il sedicenne più veloce nella storia del Canada.
