ITHACA, N.Y. – Niagara posts multiple top-three finishes during Saturday’s dual meet with Cornell.

The day began with the 200 free relay where Niagara’s quartet of Reid Tichy, Sean Finley, Gio Germano, and Levi Morgan finished fourth with a time of 1:34.48, finishing ahead of the two other NU relay teams.
Andrew Davis, Chad Rocha, and Kieth Elgar finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the 400 IM to get the individual events underway.
Nathan Dragon picked up NU’s first top-three finish of the afternoon, placing second in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.67, just under a second off the winner from Cornell. Jake Wade and Rowan Markham finished fifth and sixth in the event.
Levi Morgan finished third in the 50 free with a time of 21.73, his first of two top-three performances on the afternoon. The other came in the 100 free later on when he finished with a time of 47.96.
In the 100 IM, Finley placed fourth with a time of 54.46, followed by Tanner Isaacs in fifth and Will Manolitsas in sixth.
Germano earned a second-place result in the 100 fly with his time of 51.28. Tichy and Sam Schwabauer placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
Freshman Owen Stonebrugh finished fourth in the 100 back with a time of 54.82, followed by Robert Flannery in fifth with a mark of 54.96 and Manolistas in sixth with a time of 59.22.
Dragon earned third place in the 500 free to add to his second-place finish in the 200 free earlier in the day. The junior finished with a time of 4:46.16. Nate Eaton and James Coyne earned fourth and fifth place in the event for NU.
Finley added to NU’s top-three performances on the afternoon with a third-place finish in the 100 breast with a mark of 1:24.79. Jake Lauzonis placed fourth with a time of 58.87 in the event.
In the final event of the day, NU’s relay team of Tichy, Wade, Germano, and Dragon placed second with a time of 1:24.79 in the 200 free relay, just over one-tenth of a second off the winning teams time.

The Purple and White will travel to Youngstown, Ohio for a dual meet with the YSU Penguins. The women’s team will also head to Youngstown to take on the Penguins and Saint Francis (Pa.). The meet is set for a 1 p.m. start on Sunday, Oct. 29.
